Imm Thai Cafe

IMM Thai Cafe: Cairns’ Best Thai Food

If there’s one place in Cairns that redefines the art of Thai cooking, it’s none other than the IMM Thai Cafe. No, I’m not being hyperbolic. This place is the real deal when it comes to serving the best Thai food in the city.

Thai and Stop Me

First, let’s talk about the flavours – a bite into their Paw Paw Salad are pure winners, with fresh ingredients that sing in harmony with every mouthful. The portion? Massive! But what truly raises an eyebrow (in a good way) was the Laksa. Silky, spicy, and packed with zest – it’s as if Thailand decided to have a dance party in Cairns and everyone’s invited.

Now, if you’re a curry fan, and let’s be honest, who isn’t? Their oyster chicken stir fry, satay chicken stir fry, and sweet and sour chicken stir fry are a symphony of flavours. Not to mention the Laksa curry – an orchestra in its own right.

Noodles, Rice, & Everything Nice

Let’s not skirt around the size of this place. Yes, it’s cozy and often buzzing with people. You might think of it as Cairns’ best-kept secret, only it’s not that secret. The crowds can testify to its popularity. Top Tip: Book ahead. And if you’re someone who appreciates watching their food being prepared, their open kitchen concept is a real treat.

When it comes to the staff, hats off. Efficient, friendly, and attentive, they make sure your experience is not just about the food. The lady behind the till? A welcoming face that’s sure to brighten up your day.

But what about the value for money? It’s stellar. With portions that ensure you won’t be leaving hungry, and prices that will have you coming back for more, Imm Thai Cafe is a shining star in Cairns’ dining scene.

So, whether you’re a local or just visiting, make sure IMM Thai Cafe is on your list. Trust me, your tastebuds will thank you. After all, life’s too short for mediocre Thai food. And here? Mediocrity just doesn’t exist.

Very popular Thai food place. Right next to the night market. If you come in a big group, make sure to book for table. Food cook fresh so you need to wait for a bit depends on the dish. Take away available. Good: Cheap and cheerful for a hot spot. Beef tendon noodle soup is very good. Tiger steak hot plate is great. Nice zesty sauce. Omelette nice and not burnt 👍 Careful the Tom yum is spicy so decide your level carefully. Not too good: Restaurant a bit small, so table and chair not too comfortable. The Thai ice tea is a bit weak. The pork mince in the salad is not as good as we would like. Conclusion: Overall, a decent place to have some food before/after the the night market walk. Tips: Park somewhere else and then walk over to the market area. The car park near the market is impossible to find at peak hours. Take away is not bad to eat in the comfort of your hotel room and avoid all the hassle of waiting and sitting in.
