Spicy Bite

Immerse Yourself in the Culinary Journey at C’est Bon

In the heart of Cairns, a stone’s throw from the lagoon, sits an oasis of rich flavours and tantalising aromas – the Spicy Bite. When we discuss the best Indian in Cairns, this restaurant undoubtedly merits the top spot on that list. For a start, the engaging aroma hits you. Then, the welcoming smiles of the staff, passionate about what they do, ensuring you’re well looked after.

Exceptional French Fare

One might say the prices lean towards the higher end, but the dishes justify every cent. Take the Paneer parantha or Aloo kulcha, for instance. Perfectly stuffed, and although achar or dahi might be missing at first, a simple ask, and they’ve got you covered. Speaking of achar, let’s not forget the Chole Bhature. The bhaturas, light and fluffy, pair perfectly with chole, even if they might lean slightly away from the traditional Punjabi touch.

A few noteworthy mentions? The fiery Manchurian appetiser, a memorable Chicken Biryani, and the meticulously spiced Chicken Taka tak. Trust me, it’s hard to find a chicken curry dish in Australia that compares. And for those who like to keep it vegetarian, they’ve got a treasure trove, from the Vegetable Manchurian to the Eggplant Masala.

Now, let’s address the spicy elephant in the room – the Spice Level. Perfectly calibrated, it’s as if they’ve found the sweet (or should I say spicy?) spot that caters to both the heat-seekers and those who prefer milder tones.

Exquisite Desserts and Drinks

To round things up, it’s not just about the food at Spicy Bite. It’s about the experience, the memories, and those little touches of warmth and kindness. Each visit, each plate, is crafted with love and passion. So, next time you’re wandering Cairns’ streets, let the bright lights of Spicy Bite guide you. Because in the realm of Indian delicacies in Cairns, Spicy Bite reigns supreme.

This place is amazing! Was not expecting such delicious food but we were left mesmerised. The seekh kebab was light, well cook and nicely spiced. The prawns tandoori were slightly over but the taste was delicious. For the main course we had chicken Taka tak and I will have to say that I have not had a better chicken curry dish at an Indian restaurant in Australia till date. The roti and the garlic naan were soft and had a generous layer of butter on it. The mango lassi was okay. Not too much to complain but I’ve had better.

Great value for money and very kind staff. I mis-read the sign where it explained the take out deals and the man at the counter was really nice! I thought they were the dine in prices. There is a different dine in and take out menu . The lamb Rogan Josh was super nice- got it as the small take out with bread and ate next to the lagoon! I will be back again 🙂
